POLICY AND NAVAL REGIMENTAL SYSTEM

 
  1. The Naval Regimental System (NRS) was established on 29 Dec 10 to institutionalise a support system for naval veterans, widows and NoK. NRS enables processing of various welfare/ entitlement issues linked with death of a service person/ veteran, and aims to provide maximum benefits to the widows/ NoK on priority. Command Regimental System Officers (CRSOs) have been appointed at Command Headquarters. To cover the areas that not in immediate vicinity of Command Headquarters, additional officers have been appointed as CRSOs.

  3. Role and Responsibilities.
    1. Formulate policy and plans iro naval veterans, widows and NoK.
    2. Oversee the functioning of CRSOs.
    3. Coordinate the activities of NRS Management Committee (NRSMC) North and Central.
    4. Coordinate funds for NRS activities of CRSOs from DNPF.
    5. Coordinate financial assistance to widows & NoK of veterans.
    6. Coordinate wreath laying by widows & NoK of Battle Causalities at National War Memorial.
    7. Resolve pending Death-in-Harness (DIH) cases in consultation with concerned directorates/ organisations.
    8. Resolve issues pertaining to pension, SPARSH, OROP, ECHS, welfare schemes and proposals, change in personal particulars etc in respect of widows and NoK.
    9. Publicity of all welfare measures taken by the Government and the Indian Navy for veterans, widows and NOK, including publication of E-Newsletter.
